In order to appear to be politically correct, my public relations consultant* recommended that I create this disclaimer. .. In these epic unprecedented times, we must strive to erase all biases, prejudices, social injustice through others accountability, transparency and masking to provide a safe, I mean really safe, so safe that my mother and all her friends could feel safe, … did I mention safe? … environment where we all can feel safe regardless of how we perceive the social inequities based on our feelings. And if our feelings are impacted by anything by anyone or anything, it must be promptly eliminated, be it a historical statue, a team or high school mascot, spider, a children’s book or even another person … unless of course, they feel the same as me. All we have to do is say we don’t feel safe, have something or someone to blame, get the media involved via social media and heads will roll! Isn’t the new America great?
